The opportunity to make positive change is possible and hugely rewarding.
Our world is ever-changing, filled with uncertainties and unease. But rather than taking a negative spin on the issues facing us; we offer a great way to make a difference, which impacts one student at a time. And, in this season of giving, here’s a way to do just that within your community.
The challenge is that too few of our young people– often the first in their families to go to college and often with financial challenges – are able to access and graduate from college. Higher Edge’s effective work and committed staff help guide its students to and through college, providing guidance and mentoring until they earn their college degree.
We hope you’ll want to take action by making a gift to Higher Edge and help us achieve our 2024 goal of raising $40,000.
Getting there and persistence.
Higher Edge is currently working with 25 high school seniors from New London, Groton and other surrounding towns, as they navigate the admissions process and reduce the financial barriers to attend college. When we say “work” with students what we really mean is we build lasting relationships based on trust and respect. It means our staff takes time with each student to meet their unique needs. More importantly; staff aims to empower these young adults to forge their own paths and make their own decisions. This highly personalized approach carries over to our work with 110 college students who will graduate over the next four years.
