Getting Students To And Through College

Higher Edge empowers limited income, minority students to enter, succeed in, and graduate from college
Higher Edge operates two high quality sequential programs. The College Access Program (CAP) guides 12th graders as they navigate the college admission process. Upon enrollment in college; CAP students can choose to transition into the Success Program, which provides holistic support to ensure they persist and accomplish their goals.

A little history...

When Higher Edge was founded in 2011, the organization was serving 6 students, all from one high school. At the time, Higher Edge was a one year program and only guided students to college. But as students navigated campuses, they continued to reach back out to their advisors. As a result, the Success Program was developed, which follows students through college.
Today, Higher Edge students primarily reside in New London, but attend area high schools including: Grasso Tech (Groton), New London High School Multi-Magnet Campus, Three Rivers Middle College (Norwich), East Lyme High School, Fitch High School (Groton), Saint Bernard School (Uncasville) and Norwich Tech. Upon making a college decision; students can choose to attend any school across the country.
